The Stanford Expectations of Treatment Scale (SETS) is a tool developed to measure patient outcome expectancy prior to treatment. It has been validated in patients receiving surgical and pain interventions, but its relationship with expectancies regarding opioid use tapering has not previously been examined. We aim to characterize the relationship between the SETS scores and patient expectancy regarding opioid tapering and pain levels post tapering.
